V zgodbah Romea in Julije ter Friderika in Veronike se na najzanimivejši in naj­učinkovitejši način prenaša iz preteklosti v današnji čas dragocena vsebina, ki je del identitete nekega naroda. Zgodba o nesojeni ljubezni med Friderikom Celjskim in Veroniko Deseniško glede na razplet zgodovinskega dogajanja priteguje pozornost. Tudi zato je vredno poglabljati zgodovinski uvid v ta dogodek, ki je vznemiril svoj čas in nas nagovarja še danes. Članek nakazuje novo zgodovinsko verjetnost okoliščin ter poteka zapleta in razpleta tega dogajanja predvsem v povezavi s kartuzijo Jurklošter.

Karel Gržan: The Jurklošter Carthusian Monastery in the Frederic and Veronika Love Story. Review for History and Ethnography, Maribor 83=48(2012), 1, pp. 83–95

Through the love stories of Romeo and Juliet and Frederic and Veronika the precious legacy, which is a part of national history, is being brought from the past to the present times in a most interesting and effective way. The love never to be between Frederic of Celje and Veronika Deseniška (Veronika of Desenice) attracts attention with unravelling of its historical plot. This fact is one of the reasons why one should deepen the historical insights into this event that has inspired those times and is also of a great interest nowadays. The article indicates new historical probabilities concerning the circumstances and the course of events, particularly those connected with the Jurklošter Carthusian Monastery.
